Hot Melt Adhesive Spray Coating

Hot Melt Adhesive Spray Coating is a non-contact coating technology used to apply hot melt adhesive in a controlled spray pattern onto substrates such as nonwoven, fabric, paper, film, foam, foil and other flexible materials.
Unlike conventional slot-die coating, spray coating deposits the adhesive as fine droplets or fibres, allowing intermittent, patterned or full-width application while maintaining good adhesive coverage and flexibility.
Typical Process
Hot Melt Adhesive → Melting Unit → Heated Hose → Spray Gun/Nozzle → Substrate
The adhesive is heated to its recommended processing temperature and pumped through a heated hose to a spray head. The spray nozzle atomizes or disperses the molten adhesive onto the moving substrate. Application weight can be controlled by adhesive flow rate, line speed, spray pressure and nozzle configuration.
Advantages
Non-contact coating
Suitable for light adhesive application
Can provide open and breathable adhesive patterns
Suitable for continuous or intermittent coating
Reduced adhesive consumption compared with heavy full-surface coating
Good bonding with fabrics, nonwovens, foams and films
Can be integrated with laminating and converting lines
PLC/HMI control can be incorporated for repeatable production
Applications
Hot Melt Spray Coating is commonly considered for:
Hygiene products
Medical and healthcare products
Nonwoven lamination
Filter media
Foam lamination
Textile bonding
Elastic attachment
Mattress and furniture components
Automotive interiors
Packaging
Labels and tapes
Protective films
Disposable products
For Trasy Enterprises, a spray-coating system can be developed as an alternative to a slot-die system where the application requires low coat weight, breathable/open adhesive coverage, intermittent patterns or coating on delicate/irregular substrates.
