Innovations in Pouch Making Machines — A Legacy by Trasy Enterprises
In the year 1990, when the flexible packaging industry in India was taking its first firm steps, Trasy Enterprises played a pioneering role in shaping its technological direction. The shift from traditional mono cartons to reverse printed BOPP and PET films laminated with LDPE opened new opportunities for attractive, economical, and functional packaging.
At that time, pouch making machines were largely mechanical, operating with electromagnetic clutch and brake combinations, which often resulted in pouch length variations and inconsistent sealing quality. Recognizing the industry’s need for accuracy and efficiency, **Trasy Enterprises introduced India’s first Electronic Pouch Making Machine — a true innovation of its era.
The machine featured advanced engineering concepts such as:
Stepper motor drive system (later upgraded to servo motor technology) for precise length control.
Pneumatic sealing system, ensuring consistent sealing pressure, temperature, and contact time.
PID-controlled temperature system for accurate heat regulation.
Microcontroller-based automation — the first of its kind in the industry — integrating multiple timers for sealing, cutting, and photo mark control.
These innovations not only improved the accuracy and appearance of pouches, but also enhanced production reliability and reduced maintenance. The result was a new generation of high-quality gusseted and aluminium retort pouches, meeting global packaging standards.
Through this breakthrough, Trasy Enterprises set new benchmarks in pouch manufacturing — transforming the way flexible packaging was produced in India and establishing itself as a trusted technology leader in the packaging machinery segment.
