A Milestone by Trasy Enterprises, India
The invention of yellow sticky traps revolutionized eco-friendly pest management in agriculture. These traps were developed after researchers discovered that many flying insect pests — such as aphids, whiteflies, leaf miners, and thrips — are naturally attracted to the color yellow, mistaking it for young leaves and flowers. When combined with a layer of adhesive, these bright yellow surfaces effectively captured harmful insects without the need for chemical sprays.
In India, Trasy Enterprises played a pioneering role in bringing this innovation into practical use. The first machine for manufacturing yellow sticky traps was developed by Trasy Enterprises for M/s. Pheromone Chemicals, Hyderabad, in the year 2011. This was a landmark development for Indian agriculture and pest management technology.
Unlike conventional pressure-sensitive adhesives, Trasy Enterprises introduced the use of hot melt adhesive in coating the films. This innovation made the traps waterproof and ensured they could withstand rains and routine watering of plants in open-field and greenhouse conditions. The result was a durable, efficient, and weather-resistant product that performed consistently even in challenging tropical environments.
Today, yellow sticky traps produced using Trasy’s technology are used widely across India and other countries. They have become an essential part of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs — reducing pesticide dependence, protecting crops, and supporting sustainable farming practices.
From scientific curiosity to agricultural necessity, the journey of yellow sticky traps reflects Trasy Enterprises’ commitment to innovation, quality, and environmental responsibility.
